  • 1989

    Q-KON was formed as an Engineering Project House to focus on military Command, Control & Communication Solutions.
  • 1996

    Instrumental in the acceptance of 2.4GHz Spread Spectrum (later called WiFi) technology in South Africa, for wireless Ethernet networks and has installed +/- 1000 links up to 2002.
  • 2001

    Developed the first UHF non-line-of-sight BFWA solution, called IPConnect, in conjunction with WaveCom in Canada, and establish a permanent presence in Lagos, Nigeria.
  • 2001

    Deployment of +/- a 1000 VSAT stations, in 17 African Countries.
  • 2005

    Re-initiated the South African market effort, by establishing Q-KON SA. Establish Q-KON SA as Quintum VoIP Gateway Distributor.
  • 2006

    Q-KON SA successfully completes major STM1 microwave network on 15GHz, 26GHz and 38GHz for the Tshwane University of Technology.
  • 2008

    Successfully designed and installed an iDirect Private VSAT network including a 4.5m ESA and hub for African Bank Investment Limited.
  • 2009

    Awarded IECNS & IECS licences from ICASA.
  • 2010

    Implements que-X C-band and Ku-band teleport at the BCX Datacenter in Midrand, with a total capacity of 250Mbps. Implementation of the first Microsoft Lync certified gateways & SBA’s in South Africa.
  • 2011

    Winner of the NET (Quintum) GOLD Distributor Award Implementation of the Skyvine teleport at the BCX Datacenter in Midrand.
  • 2012

    Launching que-Skye – contract free, consumer focussed, capped satellite internet connectivity solution. Celebrating 10 years of NET product distribution. Sonus purchases NET. Q-KON SA become the first Sonus Distributor in Africa.
  • 2013

    Proud to include the AudioCodes VoIP, SIP Trunking, and Unified Communication products into our distributorship.
  • 2014

    Winner – AudioCodes Distributor of the year – EMEA.
